A Glorious Pair of Victorian Barley Twist Candlesticks
A rather lovely pair of 19th-century wooden candlesticks - not quite matching, with one base slightly thicker than the other, which simply adds character.
The tops appear to be tin, showing just the right amount of age and wear and just the sort of patina you’d hope for in pieces that have seen a good century or more of use.
To the bases, it appears someone added what looks like linen, likely to protect the fine surface they once sat upon, and you can just about make out a name written in red.
Full of character and wonderfully imperfect, they would be just right on a country kitchen table, a cosy mantle, or the sideboard in a sitting room filled with books and soft lamplight.
Will fit most standard-sized candles. Pair them with our hand-dipped pure beeswax tapers.
